TouchDesigner is a node-based programming environment optimized for real-time graphics.
If you've been wanting to dip your toes into live visuals, projection mapping, or interactivity, TouchDesigner might be the program for you. Its early architecture was built on the same framework as Houdini, so it's an especially good fit for animators who are familiar with Houdini, Max/MSP or Nuke.
Michelle Higa Fox has used TouchDesigner to:
- animate environments across fourteen screens on a three story elevator
- dynamically generate animation that never repeats
- create a psychedelic road trip
Michelle Higa Fox is a founding member of the animation trio Mixtape Club. During Michelle’s tenure with the company, Mixtape Club directed videos for Yeasayer, My Morning Jacket, and TV On The Radio, and produced commercials for clients including Google and Showtime. This work won the team an ADC Young Guns award, a Best Music Video award at SXSW, and appearances on “Best of the Year” lists for MTV2, Spin Magazine, and Pitchfork Media.
Since leaving Mixtape Club in 2011, Michelle has focused on her public art collaborations with Camille Utterback for the Sacramento International Airport and Mercedes House in New York, and also works as an editor at the industry-leading website Motionographer. She directs and produces commercials through her boutique, Slanted Studios. Michelle lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
